How Lucky Are We?

I was inspired to write this story as a single mother by choice, to twin girls conceived through a donor. At age 35, I froze my eggs, hoping for time to meet a partner and follow a traditional path. But by 40, I realized that waiting for the "right time" risked missing motherhood entirely. I chose to move forward on my own—and it became the most empowering decision of my life.

As my daughters grew older and began asking questions about their origin, I searched for picture books that could help guide our conversations. What I found was a noticeable gap in inclusive, emotionally honest literature for young children on this topic.

How Lucky Are We? aims to fill that gap with compassion and clarity, to support other parents navigating these questions.
